ICE CAVE TOUR - HALF DAY

27.900 ISK Per Person (Extra Small group) (October to April)

ABOUT THE TOUR

This winter(24-25) we will visit the newly discovered Sparkle ice cave. It is very large compared to recent years and easily accessible. It does require walking through uneven terrain and a bit uphill, but short distances. We always upload recent pictures of the cave in our Instagram story highlight "Half Day".

Each season we always choose to visit the most beautiful ice cave Vatnajökull has to offer. Our aim is to avoid the crowds by timing the departure accordingly and first and foremost, only offer an extra small group experience, with maximum 6 persons on each tour.

Our half-day tour begins with a 4x4 ride in our modified Toyota Land Cruiser, heading towards one of Vatnajökull´s glacial outlets. From there, we begin our hike across the valley towards the glacier. The hike offers unique views of the mountains surrounding the glacier, building excitement and anticipation as we get closer to the edge of the ice.

We always take our time exploring the cave, we are not in a hurry. We might bring our dog Myrkvi on the tour.

A note on April tours: We will offer the cave tours until April 10. Spring is when the temperatures rise and the caves start slowly melting away. Normally we are able to run the cave tours until mid-April but this depends on the weather. If we are not able to access the caves in early April we will notify you right away.
