ABOUT THE TOUR

This winter(24-25) we will visit the newly discovered Sparkle ice cave. It is very large compared to recent years and easily accessible. It does require walking through uneven terrain and a bit uphill, but short distances.

​

Each season we always choose to visit the most beautiful ice cave Vatnajökull has to offer. Our aim is to avoid the crowds by timing the departure accordingly and first and foremost, only offer an extra small group experience, with maximum 6 persons on each tour.​ 

​

Our half-day tour begins with a 4x4 ride in our modified Toyota Land Cruiser, heading towards one of Vatnajökull´s glacial outlets. From there, we begin our hike across the valley towards the glacier. The hike offers unique views of the mountains surrounding the glacier, building excitement and anticipation as we get closer to the edge of the ice

We always take our time exploring the cave, we are not in a hurry.

The meeting point is in the car park at Jökulsárlón (5 hour+ drive from Reykjavík).
