ICE CAVE TOUR - HALF DAY
27.900 ISK Per Person (Extra Small group) (November to April)
ABOUT THE TOUR

This winter we aim to visit the newly discovered Atlantis ice cave. Every year the caves change and look different, making them unique each winter. We always upload recent pictures in our Instagram story highlight "Half Day". In case the cave is not accessible we will offer an alternative option, see below.

Each season we always choose to visit the most beautiful ice cave Vatnajökull has to offer. Our aim is to avoid the crowds by timing the departure accordingly and first and foremost, only offer an extra small group experience, with maximum 6 persons on each tour.

Our half-day tour begins with a 4x4 ride in our modified Toyota Land Cruiser, heading towards one of Vatnajökull´s glacial outlets. From there, we begin our hike across the valley towards the glacier. The hike offers unique views of the mountains surrounding the glacier, building excitement and anticipation as we get closer to the edge of the ice.

We always take our time exploring the cave, we are not in a hurry. We might bring our dog Myrkvi on the tour.

Alternative option: If there is no accessible cave available on the day of the tour, we can offer a short glacier hike as an alternative. In this hike we will visit a blue crystal ice canyon, that might not have a roof, so technically it's not an ice cave. But we believe it will be a great experience nonetheless. You will be notified of this in advance and have the option to opt out for a full refund.
