ABOUT THE TOUR

THE PLAN

​

​Our Glacier Walk Journey begins inside our Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 vehicle heading towards the Vatnajökull glacial outlet Fláajökull. Once we get close, we will hike for about 1 hour through recently shaped landscapes and over moraines to reach the edge of the glacier. Before we embark and take our first steps on the glacier, our glacier guides will conduct a safety briefing as well as equipping everyone with Crampons, Harness, Helmets and an Ice Axe, from here we take our first steps on the glacier. During the journey our guide will share local knowledge of the area, the glacier and surrounding landscapes as well as guiding us through beautiful glacial terrain, perhaps even stopping to drink the purest water which can be found in Iceland.

The Glacier Adventure tour is perfect for those who wish to get close and personal to these mystical formations in a small and comfortable group of maximum 6 people. If you want a small group tour on a 'off the beaten track' glacier this tour is for you. No rush, no crowds. Just the spectacular Fláajökull. During the different times of the year, the glacier looks and behaves in different ways. Colors, streams, crevasses, and moulins change and we witness this changes first hand. The ever changing terrain allow us to take you to a unique place to create a unique experience.

DIFFICULTY
Moderate / Hard difficulty - Distance covered is at least 7-8km with 200m elevation gain.

DURATION

6  Hours+. This is a full day adventure.

INCLUDES

Super Jeep tour, Glacier walk, safety equipment.

BRING

Waterproof Jacket, warm clothes, hiking boots with ankle support, food and water for the day.

RESTRICTIONS

Minimum age 15, all guests must be in full health, if unsure please email or call us before booking

Meeting point is at Brunnhóll Guesthouse. We will parked in front of the reception.
